Belly Dance Drum Solo - S.T. Shimi

Watch the video

Watch this electric Middle Eastern (belly dance) drums by S.T. Shimi of Karavan Dance Company. Shimi dances to the piece “Sahra Saidi” by percussionist Gamal Gomaa of Egypt. Belly Dance drum solos because of their quick and subtle movements of the torso, tend to be short in length, usually 3 minutes at the most. This performance is a great example of fusion dancing, where movements from other styles of dance are infused. Shimi does a great job of adding a modern touch to her dance and gives a very commanding performance. For more information on Karavan Dance company go to www.karavansa.com or to stshimi.com
